CULINARY
Mountain hut Kofce has a long tradition in preparing home-cooked, local dishes. You can treat yourself with the taste of home. We serve various traditional Slovenian stews such as jota, barley soup, a “little borrowed” been stew, beef or chicken stew, mushroom soup with buckwheat porridge, typical dish of the town Tržič – tržiška bržola (stew made from lamb or mutton) and other pot meals.
Of course, spoon bread on the mountain is a must. In grazing season try them with sour milk and in colder days with pickled cabbage and homemade Miha’s sausage.
On weekends our kitchen has a tempting smell of backing pork roast or delicious baby goat with backed potatoes.
For the dessert treat yourself with homemade dumplings. You can choose between traditional, modern, sweet, savoury and chocolate ones. Try the “Kofce tris” which consist of a blueberry, cottage cheese and chocolate dumpling or go with something bit extra like chocolate dumpling with banana or dark chocolate dumpling with raspberry. Whatever your choice, all the dumplings in Kofce are as delectable as they can be.

FOR THE LITTLE ONES
Since the path to Kofce is not very challenging, the mountain hut Kofce is a popular destination for families with children. Children will enjoy the walk full of attractions, but still maintain the energy to play with their friends in a lovely play house, hidden from the direct sun. Behind the hut, there is another playground with climbing walls, swings, sandpit and trampoline.
To enrich children’s experience, walk with them on small paths around the hut and search together for the alpine flowers or let them pick their own strawberries or blueberries. We recommend to take your blanket with you and make small picnic on the lawn in “Huda luknja” or in some other calm corner. While children explore and observe the ants building the anthill or the birds building their nests, you can enjoy in calm and tranquil nature.
When your stomach starts growling, turn back to the hut to have one of Chef Peter’s delicious lunch.
SHORT BREAK
Do you need a break from the city bustle and hustle? A wonderful weekend in the mountain hut Kofce is the perfect place to relax and rest in nature surrounded with positive vibes.
The hut offers 38 beds, sorted into ten rooms. Rooms are tastefully decorated in Alpine style with cushy bedding made from natural cotton fabric. For refreshment you can use toilettes with sink and bide, which are located next to the rooms.

We also organize corporate events, team buildings, anniversary celebrations and many other events. Weather you decide to celebrate your birthday or to improve your team’s work efficiently with game, our team will make it unforgettable and joyful.
HOLY MASSES ON KOFCE
In nearby chapel of St. John the Baptist, just below the hut, every Sunday in July and August holly Mass is held by priest from Tržič father Tomaž Petkovšek.
Holly Masses are held in any weather, starting at 11.30.
The chapel is also available for other purposes, such as baptism, weddings, thanksgiving Mass, etc. For arrangement contact father Tomaž Petkovšek from parish Tržič.
The Kofce mountain hut was declared "BEST MOUNTAIN HUT" in 2019 and 2021!
In summer, Kofce is truly lively. Children will be fascinated by the animals from local farms, grazing on surrounding pastures. Kofce is a great destination in winter as well; being surrounded by white mountains with snow peaks is an exhilarating experience you will remember for a lifetime.
