By car through the town of Tr\u017ei\u010d to the Dov\u017ean Gorge, then continue to the village Jelendol, left past the Bornov grad castle, continue along the macadam road to the hill to the crossroads \u2013 from Jelendol about 10 min, turn left again. Here, the road is aligned, and we drive for another 10 minutes on the slopes of Ko\u0161uta to the parking lot (Kofce \u2013 mimo Kapelice. There, we park the car and go on foot for about 30 minutes along the forest path towards Kofce meadow.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

From the main road \u2018Tr\u017ei\u010d \u2013 Ljubelj Pass\u2019 turn to the right in Podljubelj village and follow the signposts for Kofce. Leave your vehicle by Matizovec farm. The road ends here and it gets very crowded on sunny weekends.<\/p>

Go straight on a dirt road from Matizovec farm and follow the signposts. The path gradually ascends through the forest and in about an hour you arrive to the cute Kofce alpine meadow. The forest ends here and views in all directions begin to open. \u2018Dom Na Kofcah\u2019 hut and a charming pasture hut offer food and refreshments.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

By car we drive to the town of Tr\u017ei\u010d, we pass through the city center past the church of St. Andreja and the pizzeria We turn right under the castle to the Neuhaus castle. Let\u2019s leave the car there and go on foot. We have about 3 hours walk in front of us to get to Kofce hut.<\/p>

The path from Tr\u017ei\u010d is considered as one of the most picturesque trails, as on the way we meet many already forgotten mountain plants or animals.<\/p>

From the hut go behind the pasture hut, pass the barn and follow the well-beaten path towards mountain pasture \u0160ija. Firstly the path runs down the slope, than even on mountain pasture Ilovica, where you can observe shepherd\u2019s huts and at the end leads uphill. After few minutes walking you will reach the mountain pasture \u0160ija. The effort is worth for the fabulous view of mountain Stor\u017ei\u010d. On the mountain pasture are situated scout home, pasture hut and\u00a0Mountain Rescue Association of Slovenia<\/a>\u00a0home.<\/p>

You can continue in two directions:<\/p>

  1. Back to Kofce via snake path: pass the\u00a0Mountain Rescue Association of Slovenia<\/a>\u00a0home (behind scout home) and follow the signs on your left. The paths leads over the scree and brings you under the ridge of Kofce gora. Close to the end few stepper serpentines will lead you to the highest point of the path. Then, go through the pine trees down to the pasture. The terrain is perfect to do some somersaults flips \ud83d\ude09 Round paths takes approximately 1.5 hours.<\/li>
  2. Forward to mountain pasture Pungrat: we suggest you take the round path by road toward mountain pasture Pungrat (firstly the road runs even, then descends down to mountain pasture Pungrat). On Pungrat, o glass of sour milk is a must. After a good rest go on walking and pass the pasture hut on your left, continue steeply uphill towards \u0160krbina. Somewhere halfway up (the path is not too strenuous), turn left and follow \u201cborder guards\u201d path that will lead you back to the mountain pasture \u0160ija. If you turn right, you can bum around towards other mountain pastures under Ko\u0161uta (Tego\u0161\u010de, Dolga njiva). The \u201cborder guards\u201d path is suitable for children, it\u2019s picturesque, full of flowers and beautiful views.     From the hut head uphill on the pasture, past the cross and enjoy in a beautiful view. From here continue along the slope of Ko\u0161uta to the crossroads, where:<\/p>

    1. turn left towards Veliki vrh (2088 m). The path takes you crosswise the slope to Toplar where for the first time you can stand in Austria with one leg and in Slovenia with another. Continue along the ridge until you reach your goal \u2013 Veliki vrh. If the weather is good, you will be rewarded with marvellous views on Slovenian and Austrian side of the mountains.<\/li>
    2. go straight towards Kofce gora. The paths leads along the ridge and is quite steeply. The path is covered with rocks and can be slippery, so make sure to be careful and to be well equipped. When you reach the peak you will be rewarded with amazing views. The path takes approximately 1,5 hours.<\/li><\/ol>

      Once you reach the top of Ko\u0161uta slope, turn right towards peaks Malo Kladivo and Veliko Kladivo, than descend into the George \u0160krbina and ascend to mountain Tego\u0161ka gora. After traverse U\u017enik, Macesje and other peaks, until you conquer the last peak in line \u2013 Ko\u0161utnikov turn. Descend towards mountain pasture Dolga njiva and follow the \u201cborder guards\u201d paths which leads back to Kofce.
